If someone has $1500 in their checking account, does that mean that they are rich?

I always keep minimal amounts under $30 in my checking in order to control my spending. Is it normal for someone who is not rich to have hundreds or thousands of dollars in their checking account?

Can you pay your rent with $30? Can you pay for any other bill with $30? No, of course not.

$1500 is not an unusually high amount to have in checking.

My mortgage is more than $1500 and it's automatically deducted from my checking account, so I keep a lot more than that in there.

No. It just means that they have $1500 in their checking account.

No. Don't get me wrong, you're better off than a lot of people who are getting shutoff notices, but I wouldn't retire just yet.

Yeah he’s doing great. $30 in the bank and thinks $1,500 is rich.

Most people who aren’t compulsive fùcktards can control themselves and don’t have to keep themselves broke in order to stop buying random shít, so to answer your question, yes having $1500 in your checking account is completely normal. It likely just means that person has a job and isn’t a compulsive fùcktard.
