I ripped an $870.50 check in half and tapped it back together would the bank still put the money in my savings account?

    Yes as long as the signature and the amount can be clearly seen the check will be deposited in your account and it will go through the banking system just fine as long as there's not a stop payment on the check.

    Prove that you ripped it. That you didn't fInd it in the trash. Or recover it after it had been trashed. Assuming that you prove the name on the check is you.
