You still have to pay tax's to the U.S. Government were ever you go on all income. The U.S. is the hardest Country in the world to be allowed to leave as a citizen. Cambodia is very easy. You can get a work or investment visa there. But there cops are near the equal of American cops in corruption & bad. Italy has some deals going right now. Check them out. Caribbean island has some deals. You might try the Gambia. They had some deals but they never seemed to attract many takers.

Most Asian countries will not allow foreigners to own land.
Many have laws that allow foreigners to own a condo, as long as the condominium complex is at least 70% native owned
Some allow long term leases (25 years)on land that allow you to build a house however at the end of the lease the house becomes property of the land owner
Very few will let expats work, most require you show proof of stable income before they let you apply permanent residency

There's no country where you can go if you don't meet that nation's standards. Some of the places where one can get in on an investor visa for the lowest price are in the Caribbean.

Google 'FATCA'. Uncle Sam doesn't want you to leave. And when you do he still wants your money.

It is easier for EU people to immigrate to EU countries, and commonwealth people to immigrate to the UK. Other than that, the qualifications are not different for Americans than for others from a different country.
So it is easier for an American to move to a country that they qualify to move to. A PhD in engineering or a hard science will help.
