What could be causing static noise on my TV?

As if there was some kind of interference. Kind of like when a radio station is off by a couple of numbers.

Is your TV digital? If you are receiving a digital signal but process it on an analog (older) TV using a converter you might be picking up a nearby station that's transmitting power so close to you.

The tv is old, so parts and connections get weak, causing static. Its happening on mine right now and its 8 years old. I just put up with it. I will wait till it blacks out and get a new one.
