Why do humans like ‘fun’?

Humans get ‘bored’ and like to have a feeling of ‘fun.’ Is there some evolutionary/psychological reason for this? Why do humans seek this feeling of ‘fun’ and why does ‘boredom’ exist?

Thank you for an Objective answer.

it provides them psychological relief from the otherwise oppressive knowledge of their human condition in the world,

in which they must work and endure stress interminably, only to be inevitably and inescapably overtaken by death

same as religion, really. though religion actually does more than that also

Well PLAY is definitely an evolutionary mechanism for rehearsing adult roles. All mammals do it.

I'd say "fun" but be related to "novelty" as well. Our brains like novelty.
