    Look at historic houses.

You may be able to find a place to rent for $2000 that can hold 150 people. But that is to rent the space, nothing else included.

Try looking at park district, large apartment complex rec centers (some will rent them out) community centers. VFW halls.

Also try having your wedding on a Friday or Sunday. Prices can be lower.

150 guests for under $2K is quite a challenge. That equates to about $13 per person which means an outdoor venue with a 'picnic' style reception may be your best approach.

My brother had my nieces in the backyard like a formal picnic with tents. Very frugal. You can still get a caterer.
