A transformer blew.....it happens. It was fixed within hours. No biggie.

New Yorkers aren't whiny snowflakes.........we just deal with stuff, and get on with life.

solar requires a fair amount of free space, which is not available in NYC. Some buildings do have solar collectors, others have wind. Con Ed does allow connecting to a firm which obtains energy from alternative sources, CleanChoice Energy, which brings in wind and solar from well outside the city. But when a local transformer goes down, the source makes no difference.

when it becomes more profitable than socially trendy, they'll get it. besides at this point they'd have to give up a couple of their rooms for all the panels necessary to power their apartment. and they aren't going to do that.

You want to buy some land? It's a little wet but you can drain it.

Solar power doesn't work at night, not that there is room for enough solar panels.
