My son got put in a special education class. Does that mean he's gifted?

His 2nd grade teacher from last year got his principal to put him in a special education class for next year. Are special education classes for kids who are 'special'?

PC has made simple words handicapped, retarded into

    incomprehensible misnomer special.

who can know better than I

you can take a breathe relief,as the issue has been

identified and corrective process has been initiated.

i wish you and more importantly the kid - the best of all the things.

in the US, a child is not put in special ed without a meeting with the parent...and the parent would know

some states included gifted students in special ed.

some students with disabilities are called twice exceptional, they have a learning disability like dyslexia but are also intellectually gifted.

Special yes but not in a good way. Special ed is for slow learners or kids with behavioral problems or attention problems.
