Would the USSR have split up and divided Japan much like they did Germany and Korea during WW2, if we had not dropped the A-bombs.?

Had we not dropped those A-bombs, would the Soviets have gone further and invade the mainland Japan and split up Japan by implementing a communist government while the Allies have the other part of Japan and spread democracy much like the situation with North Korea and South Korea?.
