Is 12 millibit (mb) your monthly allowance, or are you asking about mbps (millibits/second).
Nowadays, you probably want about 5 billion times more speed for many types of business venture, and depending where you live, the costs of 60 Mbps (Megabits/second) Internet may not be much different from lower speeds such as 12 Mbps. Note: milli (m) versus Mega (M) - units matter.
Even if you can manage with 12 Mbps now, in perhaps a couple of years time you will want a faster connection. An ADSL connection might get you up to just over 20 Mbps, but then you may need to pay for a connection upgrade, which might mean paying more in the long run.
