      Whenever you have paid work or school work or housework to do. When somebody wants to talk to you. When you might drop the book in a place where recovery is impossible (e.g. at the edge of a canyon). Note spelling of "inappropriate".

    When you're driving, or spending time with someone. If you are eating lunch with a group of friends, you might think it's okay to read because there's other people, but it's quite rude, and gives off an unfriendly vibe. Also, during religious services, unless it's required.
