I work in an industry that is male dominated, when I have to hire a new person I will hire the one best suited for the position regardless of gender. But if I have two equally qualified people, I chose the minority. Having a diverse workforce helps to improves the performance of the team as a whole and the conversations are more decent, rather than "locker room banter".
Two positives, do you need more?

It doesn't where I am now, but if I was in a different industry? Yes. My goal is to have the best team and I want people to show respect each other and our clients.
