To guarantee it they want to service it every year. The cost of service is $500.00. Do you think that it is worth that much just for service?

You could 'a' bought a Casio Batteryless.

Check eBay. I got a Batteryless there for about $20. I expect it to last the rest of my life.

Buy it because you like the way it looks and not as a status symbol. If you are not rich most people will think it is counterfeit.
