It controls the weather, growth of food plants, as the oxygen we breath goes down many of us can not breath correctly any more. As oxygen goes down carbon dioxide goes up even higher. So if we do not get control of it we will have no food, no clean water, and no breathable air. Then we die off!

It controls our water level, which with global warming it is dangerously getting higher and our air quality is getting worst because of the pollution of materials.

It is like asking, why is a habitat important to an organism. It is part of its existence and without it, it wouldn't be here.

In this modern world with a total population of 7 billion the ability to grow food, raise livestock, provide potable water and to provide shelter is affected by climate change.

Catastrophic warming has not taken place but the planet is now cooling because of an solar inactive phase beginning. The Spring of 2019 has produced Northern Hemisphere late frosts, abnormal rainfall and flooding causing serious late planting and crop failures.

Prices at your local food market are being to increase and this does not bode well for coming years as global cooling takes hold. When you see the elite investing into greenhouse technology and pushing meatless products you can guess that somethings up.

This is why climate is such a major factor for survival!!

we don't have another planet to go on. Unlike the past, almost the entire earth is populated, migrating elsewhere is already a problem. Maybe some deniers can argue with their insurance companies for lower rates, it's already getting more expensive. quoting interglacials, CO2 as plant food and other distractions is not particular smart. the problems is ALREADY getting bad. we've even got a regular believing thet a solar minimum will result in cooler temperature despite rising CO2. Clearly a brainfreeze.

Some people call our global climate just Mother Nature......

and if humans were at war with nature, and we won that war - what the hell does that actually mean?

It is hard to overstate just how many factors are affected by climate.

How well do the plants grow? What plants grow there? Do bacteria bloom like crazy, or are they held in check? What's the soil composition? How bad is erosion of the coastline or riverbeds? Do the animals hibernate, or migrate? Are parasites typically killed off every winter? Is fresh water readily available through out the year? Do mammals die from exposure in the extreme weather days?

    Etc.

Climate is huge. It impacts nearly everything in some way or another.

Who says it is today, at least for humans.

Nature doesn’t give us a stable, safe climate that we make dangerous. It gives us an ever-changing, dangerous climate that we need to make safe. And the driver behind sturdy buildings, affordable heating and air-conditioning, drought relief, and everything else that keeps us safe from climate is cheap, plentiful, reliable energy, overwhelmingly from fossil fuels.

Try sleeping outside overnight in winter in Alaska. If you survive the night, try scrounging around for food the next day.
