Firth of Fifth is my favorite.

  • Genesis? Does anyone still listen to them? I thought they'd been forgotten since the "prog rock" days, when their songs about elves and fairies and whatnot were briefly fashionable.

These days they are very much a footnote in rock history , represented mainly by a brief snippet of their keyboard player Rick Wakeman playing 20 different keyboards while dressed as King Arthur that gets shown on documentaries when they want to illustrate the kind of thing that drove people to listen to "punk rock".

It's no surprise that with their audience dwindling as the 80s arrived that they attempted to relaunch their career by changing their name to Marillion, but of course it was too late. By then there was much better music to listen to from the likes of Billy Joel, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Simply Red , Phil Collins and Mike & The Mechanics to name but a few, and Genesis (aka Marillion) found themselves residing in the "Where are they now"? file.
