Did the English mess up big time when they were ruling Ireland in 1600s Ulster Plantation they sowed the seeds for sectarian conflict in NI?

    Those responsible for the plantation of Ulster were Arthur Chichester and John Davies. Apart from King James VI & I, the rest of the population of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales didn't get a say in the matter - or in any matters at all. Chichester and Davies died around 400 years ago. Blaming "the English" for their crimes is racist in the extreme. If you want to make a success of your life, first get that chip off your shoulder.

    The southern Irish have always been a very stubborn people. They have enormous egos minus the country to back it. It's not like they've made anything of themselves since medieval times. Hell, since ancient times.

      They are doing much better politically and economically than the divided U.K. integral part of the EU.
