I'm in San Francisco now, another tourist destination. I've lived in a few. Our Italian cousins live on the Italian Riviera - not in a regal palace, no - so we live like natives when we visit them, too. Aside from the obvious things like traffic, I really enjoy living around tourists as people. Well, not ALL of them. They are happy, they're on vacation, they're interested and curious. And I enjoy meeting them sometimes and learning about what they are about. There are bad times like some conventions. Oracle's convention is so big that all the hotels are booked and they need to park cruise ships at the docks to handle the overflow. That doesn't matter to me except that all of the city's services are overcrowded, too.
