The arch beneath a bridge is semi-elliptical, a one-way roadway passes under the arch. (see picture please for the rest of the question)?

Equation of an ellipse centered at the origin:
x²/a² + y²/b² = 1 where a>b
In this example a = 20 ft and b = 11 ft
Since the truck is 8 ft wide, assuming it passes perfectly centered,
will it strike the bridge 4 ft from center?
In other words, what is y when x = 4?
x²/20² + y²/11² = 1
4²/400 + y²/121 = 1
y = √(121(1 - 16/400)) = 10.7 ft
Since this is greater thatn the height of either truck,
it is enough room for both trucks to pass under the bridge........ANSWER B
