I find it easier to convert each term, multiply by (1) converting units

1.5 m (100cm/m) x 1.2 m (100cm/m) = 18,000 cm²

You might find it helpful to convert the measurements into cms first:

150 x 120 = 18,000 sq cm

1.5 * 1.2 = 1.8 m²

You know that 1 m = 100 cm

So 1 m² = 100² cm² = 10 000 cm²

1.8 * 10 000 = 18 000

For volumes 1 m³ = 100³ cm³ = 1 000 000 cm³

Two ways. Calculate the area in m^2/ Use the conversion factor 1 m^2 = 10,000 cm^2 to find the area in cm^2

Or, convert the m to cm initially. Calculate the area which is in then in cm^2
