I read it years ago, the book had 2 siblings that are half god/ half demon they used instruments as weapons the boy started with a violin then turned it into a guitar. I also remember they went to a school that had other kids of gods.

Since there haven't been any replies yet, I'll give it a try.

I haven't read any of these books but I know that a good number of Rick Riordan's series are concerned with "kids of gods".

Actually, the majority of his books are set in the same fictional universe.

There are the so-called Camp Half-Blood Chronicles which consists of several series and is concerned with the Greek pantheon. The first book to be published was "The Lightning Thief" which was also adapted into the movie "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief"; you've probably heard of or seen that one.

There are also "The Kane Chronicles" that deal with the Egyptian pantheon and "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" taking on the Norse mythology.

Like I said, these all take place in the same fictional universe and there are also cross-over stories.

I did a quick Google search and found that there is a passage involving guitars and violins in "The Hidden Oracle" but from the excerpts I could see it doesn't seem to be the scene you describe. Also, the book was published in May 2016, probably too recent to qualify for being read "years ago". But you never know...

Anyway, I'm not so sure if the book you're looking for is one of Rick Riordan's but maybe it is and seeing the title or the cover will ring a bell.

Here are some links to overviews to these series, maybe you recognize your book.

    Otherwise, good luck!

Here you see that scene from "The Hidden Oracle" I mentioned. (It's the first book of The Trials of Apollo linked above.)
