    The AK shoots a 123 grains 7.62mm

    Max effective range is 400yds

    Ar shoots 45-62 grain 5.56mm 400-600yds.

AK is built to beat. It's piston operated and really loose tolerances. It can be accurate.

AR is gas impingement and gets dirtier faster. It is generally more accurate than an AKm with the 16inch bbl.

Both can be bought with 20inch barrels.

The AK would me a NHM91

AR is called rifle instead of carbine.

This is a picture of my nhm91. I built it. That's a 10x unertl scope in a BSquare shotgun mount

It will shoot 3 moa at 500yds which is very accurate for that rifle.

The AR round is lighter, therefore it will travel further.

A better comparison would be the AK-74.

Bullets start dropping the instant they leave the barrel. How far they travel before hitting the ground depends on the round, not the rifle.

The ak has a lower muzzle velocity and shorter barrel

ar 15 has longer range, faster velocity and better accuracy, but the ak has a bigger, heavier bullet and more recoil.

the AR is a bit better, depending on how bad the barrel is in the AK ..............
