A two liter plastic soda bottle , filled with frozen water . Will this help keep my pets cool during the hot months?

Almost twenty years ago now , I read an article .

The article said that one way of keeping your pets cool , is if you freeze water in a soda bottle and then place it on the flooring. The animals can roll around and play with the bottle , in order to keep cool.

Good idea , or no?

I wouldn't risk it. I would be concerned about them chewing on the bottle and ingesting the plastic.

Depends on the type of pet. This is common practice to keep rabbits cool. They can't get their teeth around a slippery, frozen 2-liter bottle.

That sounds good, until they bite through the plastic bottle, and it leaks water.
