i’m 15 and i just watched people being tortured and executed on bestgore.com. How do i get the images out of my head?

i can’t think about anything else and everything has suddenly become very bleak and insignificant. how do i end this?

Update:

its been a few hours and they're gone for now. haven't slept yet. i'm still disgusted.. but slightly over it. i remember going on that site when i was like 8 but i hadn't remembered anything so i might forget about it all together soon.

    Don’t look at that stuff anymore, I went through a phase with that also. I’m a lot older than you but still I think people like us who have been traumatized are for some reason drawn towards traumatic material like that. It almost makes us feel better in a weird way to see stuff like that. Like we’re addicted to things which trigger stress reaction, high cortisol. Maybe you know what I mean. It’s funny how you can have a traumatic background and then want to see traumatic stuff like that. I guess it’s almost like something you get addicted to, like a bad drug. But try not to look at it try to look at something that’s more positive OK? I would like you to feel better.

    It sounds as if you're genuinely suffering from a form of PTSD. It certainly could be detrimental to visit sites like that, but now that the deed is done it may be a good idea to visit a therapist. Some people can handle viewing all sorts of violent scenes, but others like yourself are more sensitive and it would be desirable for you to maintain this decent part of yourself.

    Speak to your school counsellor and then your parents about lining up some sessions for you. If they don't appreciate the gravity of the situation, then show your parents what you saw, but just don't look yourself.

    We cannot un-know things. We are stuck with them. What we can do is to fill our head with other stuff by keeping busy, studying hard and not allowing ourselves to dwell on bad things. That is not easy.

    Do NOT think of a deep red rose bud.

    Do not imagine that rose bud in the fresh morning light with a dew drop glinting on its petals.

    Do not imagine the vivid green leaf on the stem of that rose bud.

    What did you think of?

    Telling ourselves NOT to think something has the opposite effect. It is far better to occupy our thoughts in other ways and just get on with life.

    We know what we DON'T like and DON'T want in life so we concentrate instead on what we DO want and DO like and that DOES make the world a better place or bring us pleasure or help us get on in life so we can enjoy more pleasure in the future. The trick is to not leave space for the bad stuff.

    Eventually, we may compartmentalise it and just choose not to go there.

    Watch a love story and listen to gentle poetic music so a time.If in future you are still anxious about it don't watch again! It can actually be trauma inducing and not healthy for you.

    You stop watching them forever and ever, shouldn't have been watching them in the first place, stick to peaceful things.

    Tell a therapist, maybe telling a therapist will help so that when you get these images again you would have told them to a therapist so then you will have thoughts about telling it to a therapist

    Basically a therapist could help to replace those images in your head.

    I would not watch that stuff.
