Is a banana peel a vegetable?

    That's a good question. Seeds are not inside of a banana peel so it is a vegetable. The whole baba is a fruit.

    A banana is a fruit .. so it's peel is still 'fruit' .. it doesn't magically turn into 'vegetable'.

    Like the peel from an apple is 'fruit' .. and the zest of a lemon is 'fruit'

    and please note .. I said 'fruit' .. not 'a fruit'.

    Bananas are delicious and healthy, and we love them! We used to just throw banana peels in the compost or the trash until recently. Using banana peels in the garden provides your vegetables with loads of nutrients that plants need to thrive, and it acts as a pest repellent, too!

    I don't believe so...? It is part of the banana, so it is a fruit. Just as the shuck of a corn is still a vegetable.
