Wireless subwoofer makes faint popping sound?

I’ve always wanted surround sound but I live in an apartment so I can’t drill holes in the walls to hide wires. This system is awesome but there are a couple of annoying things- like the subwoofer making a very faint popping noise. Only when on menus from my game consoles or idling; never when I have actual audio pumping through it. Is there a way to eliminate this crackling noise without exchanging the unit? I’ve only had it for a week and I’d just like to know if this is a common problem that already has a solution.
