Because a lot of people think of them as not even human and they get looked down on and sometimes get treated like crap. They are only humans like you and me. We are all humans, we all have feelings. We all feel. They are worried you'll ignore them I guess. They're also hungry and often cold.

I usually break down into a torrent of tears and tell them my dog just got hit by a car and I need $200 for the funeral. It ain't true. It's all just political theater.
