Unless a medical doctor gives the DMV written confirmation that you're medically able to drive again, you don't get your licence back. Ever.
If your condition is corrected, assuming it can be, a certified medical doctor (maybe even the same one who notified the DMV) will be happy to report to the DMV that you are once again medically cleared to hold a driver's licence. There will be a waiting period, some paperwork to fill out and the DMV may insist that you be checked out by another doctor (one they trust), but you'll be eligible for a driver's licence again if that happens.
That process takes as long as it takes, not a minute less. There is no formula for calculating how long it takes for specific medical conditions, and you didn't mention a specific condition.
