Game of Thrones actors salary?

Since there were no ticket sales for income or advertisements to pay for the series, how did actors like Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) or Lena Hedley (Cerise Lannister) get paid? How much did they earn over the five years of the series?

They do not get a "salary".

Available online, just do a simple google search on 'game of thrones salaries'.

Here's one - you can get more detailed info by looking.

"Game of Thrones" actors such as Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke were making $500,000 an episode, while others, such as Sophie Turner, were paid $175,000 an episode, according to a 2017 Variety report.

Whatever their agents could negotiate. Some may have taken it at a reduced rate - a bit like some of the Harry Potter stars - the exposure in that kind of franchise can launch a career, or boost a flagging one.

Production companies pay the cast and crew.

    Home Box Office (HBO)

    Television 360

    Grok! Studio (as Grok! Television)

    Generator Entertainment

    Bighead Littlehead

Some may be owned by actors, or part-owned, and contracts can include residual payments for each broadcast and can also include ancillary rights of toys and/or games including video games.

Broadcast companies and DVD distribution pay the production companies.

Companies have mergers and acquisitions. Parent company now is AT+T which owns about 100 subsidiaries including WarnerMedia that owns HBO.

The money comes from consumers who subscribe to phone and internet and cable TV with monthly payments.

Consumer money comes from various places, and some work for the AT+T companies.

" Game of Thrones actors such as Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke were making $500,000 an episode, while others, such as Sophie Turner, were paid $175,000 an episode, according to a 2017 Variety report. However, Coster-Waldau (and likely the other four main stars) could be making even more than that. 2018 legal documents in a court battle betwen Coster-Waldau and his former manager, Jill Littman, revealed that he would be making $1.07 million per episode "for at least 6 episodes" of the final season."

So, money gets rolled up in corporations and some redistributed and some held in the company as assets.

Mega corporations have pieces of many things. If you have Cricket Wireless, some money rolls up into AT+T and down into media content to pay actors and it is internal to companies to shuffle the money around.

I hope you like a touch of the big picture. Lots of consumers pay at the bottom and rich people own companies and pay some large salaries.
