Probably neither. They are 2 old bikes. Impossible to tell from your question what sort of condition either of these 20 year old bikes is in or whether either will be the correct size for you. Also, you don't talk about how you wish to use it. As it happens, I owned a 1998 GT LTS and it was an ok bike. It became much better after I replaced the original 7 speed drivetrain with good quality Deore LX 9 speed components, better wheels, a new crank, and a better fork, stem and handlebars. All that was original was the frame. It in no way could it compare with my 10 year old Commencal Super 4 even with the multiple upgrades just as my Commencal cannot hope to compare to current offerings. 20 year old mountain bikes are all obsolete, particularly the suspensions. Don't expect much from either bike if used for mountain biking. If you plan to ride on the road an older unsuspended mountain bike is a much better option.
