Is it normal to get blood test results 3 days after the blood test?

    Yes. Although if you are in hospital it can happen in under an hour.

    It's when the Dr needs to.see. You to explain the results when you need to worry

    Depends on the test...

    A blood culture takes a week, hepatitis, HIV and other blood borne viruses can take up to two weeks.

    Most biochemical tests (hormones, drugs etc) take just few hours.

    A full blood count could just take 20 minutes.

    Theb are you an inpatient or does that result have to sent to you GP first and then what's the policy on the practise? Can they call you or do you need an appointment?

    3-7 days is about right for most tests but allow for up to 14 days just in case. Something more fancy maybe closer a month for it to all be back and ready to be given to you.
