Would they still have been geniuses if:?

Take some of the greatest geniuses of the 20th century. Von Neumann, Heisenberg, Schrodinger, etc.

What would have happened if they had been born in a nomadic Paleolithic tribe?

What if they have been born to illiterate peasants and denied an education?

What would have happened if they had been abused or neglected as children?

Would they still have changed the world?

Likely if they had been born into families who could not have afforded them an education they would not have achieved what they did.

The greatest ice skater in history was born in Ancient Egypt and never saw ice.

Many great scientists and inventors never became such because they were born in ancient times or because they were born in modern day Africa and grew up starving and uneducated until they were killed by a petty warlord.

Without access to the right facilities people cannot live up to their full potential.

for all of them, i would say no, because if such conditions would deprive them of the opportunity to succeed

the "mute, unsung Milton" theory. Probably not for most, but there is always someone who manages to succeed at something despite the odds. Perhaps invent a crossbow instead of nuclear physics

    Futile speculation.

No doubt there have been people who were potential geniuses (in every walk of life and culture globally) whose potential was unfulfilled.

    Obviously it's impossible to know.

There must be uncountable numbers of potential geniuses all over the world denied the opportunity to develop their talents.

    Who’s to say?

Many geniuses were self educated and came from poor upbringings

Obviously not. No doubt there are hundreds, if not thousands of "geniuses" out there who will never be known because they don't have accessibility to the world that will get them noticed.
