Is there such a thing as RED FLAGGING a race car?

I've been at lots of tracks and know that a red flag means to stop where your at. But last night, at a small dirt track, (I'm in the scorers tower) and the flagger said to red flag a race car. I've never heard that one before. So, I'm curious! What does red flagging a race car mean?

Depends on what kind of race, which you forgot to say.

Yes we know it was a dirt track. That's a surface, not a type of race.

That means that the one particular car must stop immediately. Could be for a rules violation or for a safety issue.
