Diabetes is NOT contagious. Yes, something like the flu, chicken pox, or pneumonia can give someone the acute disease that triggers the immune system into an autoimmune reaction that destroys the insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas, so in a sense, yes, one person CAN cause type 1 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes, which is what most people have, is not contagious. Gestational diabetes during pregnancy is not contagious.
Diabetes is NOT an STD.
Yes, if you want to give someone type 1 diabetes, that is bad. Willful ignorance is also bad.
