Is this corporate welfare: taxpayers funding food stamps and other benefits for employees of the most profitable companies on Earth?

Why or why not?

It seem to be enabling those corporations to continue to pay low wages.

Oil companies? Of course it's corporate welfare. Business always sucks off the taxpayer. But because it's easy it and government co-exist that way the favoured can have weath shoved at them under the table.

It's why there's watchdogs to try to prevent graft.

Yes, because those companies are not being placed under any obligation to meet the basic needs of their employees as long as taxpayers are doing it for them. If they're posting billions in profits, they can clearly afford to provide a living wage for all their employees.

I am opposed to the food stamp program. If your skills and work ethic are so poor that you cannot make a decent living from what your employer pays you, your choices should be one of the following: 1. Reduce your living expenses, 2. Acquire better skills and a better work ethic, 3. Get a second job.

That isn't corporate welfare. That's promotion of poverty.

    No. It's not.

Walmart getting subsidies and banks getting bailouts however is corporate welfare.

The amount of people on food stamps since Trump has been elected has fallen precipitously. LOL

You must be talking about that "used to be guy" and that "used to be situation". LOL

Yes- and every dollar gets spent in their corporate stores.

We need to nationalize much of the economy.
