Herman Melville said he dated his life at 25. When have you dated your life?

"When I became a man, I put away childish things." Herman's father passed on when Herman was all of 12. As Herman was born in 1819, he was 25 years old in 1844; he had been working as a seaman on whaling and other ships since he was 19. At 25, in 1844, he returned to New York State, with plenty of tales to tell (he immediately wrote Typee, his first best-seller).
So, whenever you've got enough wind in your sails, perhaps a Ph.D. in engineering, and a soul, that's when a life may be landmarked. Perhaps some continue to accumulate landmarks, so are not so memorable.
