Sadly, yes. Brace yourself. When I was in middle school I bought a turtle from a classmate for $1. I brought it home and put it in the backyard. It stayed there for 2 days. On the 3rd day I couldn't find it. Later in the day one of the neighborhood kids said they saw a squished turtle on the road a block and a half over. So I got on my bike and went to the location and sure enough, there was my turtle. Flatter than a pancake.

The picture is of a tortoise. You might ask, "Why did the tortoise cross the road?"

Yes in the Florida Everglades on transport to my artillery duties.

Our driver only steered and braked to slide over the big snakes.

Working with WMD daily created a hardened crew that served.

Yes. Some of the wooded areas near my house are pretty marshy, and we have turtles who occasionally go for a stroll a few hundred feet away from home.
