If Judges like Jon Tigar, James Robart, Haywood Gilliam, block attempts to defend US borders why do they not block US decisions to make war?

They remember the actions that A. Lincoln took when the Supreme Court did just that with the 7 slaveholders justices. They did not like the jail cells they were confined to.

These "attempts to defend US borders" are only political tools and not meant to actually fix a problem which takes far more extensive bipartisan actions. Until Republicans and Democrats cooperate, there will be an issue of people in the USA illegally. One sided views will not get cooperation.

As to blocking wars, judges can only deal with issues they are responsible to manage.

There are war powers split between Congress and the President to be complied to.
