Will this work for donuts?

110 grams (3 3/4 oz, 1/2 cup) caster/superfine sugar.

1 egg and 1 egg yolk.

1 tsp vanilla.

185ml (6 fl oz, 3 3/4 cup) whole milk.

500 g (1 lb 2 oz/ 3 1/3 cups) self raising flour)

Pinch of salt.

Cream the fat and sugar til light and fluffy. Then add egg, egg yolk, vanilla and milk and mix til combined.

Sift flour and salt and mix til just combined, do not over mix)

Turn out the dough on a floured surface and knead the dough (with floured hands) til the dough is smooth. Using a floured rolling pin roll out the dough to a 1 cm (1/2 inch) thickness.then using a donut cutter cut out rounds.

Deep fry in hot lard or oil until donuts are puffed up, golden and cooked through.

Fry in batches and place on kitchen towel to drain. Then toss in cinnamon sugar.

Perfect combination is 4 tbs caster sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon. Mix well.
