# How many ohms 2 x g12-412mg?

I have a homemade cab with 2 g12-412mg’s in it, how many ohms would it be? Is each speaker 8 ohms and therefore the cab is 4 ohms? Or is the speaker assuming a 4x12 setup and therefore 16 ohms? Kind of lost... thanks.

TO DETERMINE THE ACTUAL LOAD IMPEDANCE, OPEN THE SPEAKER CAB FROM ITS BACK, LIST ALL THE SPEAKERS IMPEDANCE AS MARKED ON THEIR BACK, THEN WRITE DOWN ITS CONNECTION CIRCUIT.

IF BOTH SPEAKER ARE 8 OHM AND CONNECTING IN SERIES, THEN IT HAS 16 OHM. IF BOTH ARE CONNECTED IN PARALLEL, THEN IT HAS 4 OHM.

Celestion G12-412MG ?

depends on how they are wired. Stereo, they are independent and 8 Ω each. Wired in parallel, that is 4 Ω. In series (unlikely) 16 Ω

But do you have more than 2 speakers?

edit:

cabinet has nothing to do with impedance. Two 8 Ω speakers in parallel are 4 Ω. Cabinets do NOT have an impedance or resistance.
