Why did Tom Cruise join the church of Scientology?
He’s a brilliant actor and personally, I like him.
But early on in his career I think he witnessed how easily Hollywood can destroy the very stars they make and he wanted a grounding influence that would give some guidance to his future.
He HAS made some mistakes but not as bad as they might otherwise have been.

It was all the result of a big misunderstanding.
Tom really enjoyed being a Naval aviator in "Top Gun" and thought that Sea Org had something to do with an auxillary function of the Navy.

We don't know why. Why does anyone ever join anything? I suppose he wanted to or was talked into it.
Now, after all these years, he will be so entrenched in that cult that he will be unable to get out probably.

Because he was gullible, lonely and without a sense of purpose?
For sure, but unless he tries to make or pass laws to make obligatory for people to take the Church of Scientology "the reactive mind," personality test... I do not care, why did Tom Cruise join the church of Scientology
