Oh yeah definitely. I can tell you from experience because my mom bought a new 2013 toyota corolla and i still drive a 1997 toyota corolla. The 1997 corolla is way much better built. The 2013 has tons of hard plastic, the electric steering is really bad, and the handling is not that great. The 1997 corolla is actually more fun to drive, the build quality is better, the steering is also much better. So yes Toyota is not as good as it used to be.

1997 was the last year of that generation. Those were much better than any
Corolla after that. In fact, I used to have a 1999 Corolla LE that was a nice looking car. I bought it brand new, but I could already see the build quality wasn't as good as the 1997 and older models.

Maybe a little, but not as low as GM, yet.

Probably. Why only give 3 years or 36K miles warranty when other companies are giving out at least 5 years or 60k miles.

Car companies that give longer warranties, generally start doing that because they aren't known for selling a reliable product.
