If a store close everything closes. Over the years they have acquired other chains and have been enticed into new developments as an 'anchor store' on cheap rents. They have ended up with over representation in many areas. They also face competition from online chemists and are no cheaper than local pharmacies for NHS prescriptions; the trend is for health centres to have onsite franchises.

Most of the stores earmarked for closure have another branch nearby and the total volume of store closures is about 8%. Boots public reputation has plummeted since it was bought by a US firm and their routine milking of the NHS was exposed.

The pharmacies will close when the stores close.

Yes as others say if a store everything in it closes including the chemists.

Closing means closing although I don't think ALL Boots are closing by any means? It is cheaper to buy online, BUT some Pharmacies will need to remain to fill routine prescriptions - our GP has an in-house pharmacy, Lloyds. UK

About 200 of the 2,485 stores are marked for closing, the pharmacy will close as well. The popularity of online shopping is closing the High Street.
