Why does Islam have to be an issue in a UK PM debate when it is a Western country?

The question wasn't specifically about Islam but about whether words have consequences, aimed mainly at Boris Johnson for the many xenophobic and careless comments he has made. His comments comparing women in burqas to "letter boxes" and "bank robbers" was just one of those raised. Johnson's gaffe about the purpose of Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe's visit to Iran, which resulted in additional charges being brought against her, was raised as a more serious consequence of his careless words.

    It smacked of pandering.

    Smoozing a verciferous minority.

Telling some random Muslim how delighted the cabdudares were to have him in Britain, without a clue about who he is, what he does etc

    Tail wagging the dog.

Source(s): Oh dear, bbc now apologise for the anti semetic ‘iman’ for his twitter account, hidden they claim before the show, but reactivated after. Ironic that he hid his words, you know the words that ‘have consequences’ Quite the corbyn plant, and his words have led to his suspension from his job, no doubt one where he poisoned the minds of kids. https://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/bbc-tory-leader...

If we are looking to the World to trade we have to be prepared for engaging with countries that aren't all WASPs.

The West has an obsession with Islam. It is also what makes people go out and vote. There is a lot of very ignorant and insecure people in the West. It is easy to manipulate them.

If your going to use antisemitism to falsely attack Corbyn you're going to have to face questions about your own treatment of religious minorities. Only fair!

Because the UK is rapidly becoming an Islamic country. It's only reasonable to discuss how the transition will be managed.

For the UK to survive, it may need to sign some trade deals with countries that have money.

How is that the reason? Muslim countries need to trade with the UK too, there are financial reasons not religious reasons.
