what would happen if the vacuole in a plant cell shrinks in size?

    The cell will become somewhat shrunken/limp, at least most of the time. If this happens to enough cells, then, as JazSinc suggests, the plant will become wilted.

    The plant appears to be wilted. This happens every day where I live (Los Angeles).
