Is it ok for a 12 year old to buy a drinking hip flask to drink water?

    It depends who is asking:

If you're a parent, don't buy your kid alcohol and alcohol paraphernalia. While it may seem harmless, promoting underage alcohol consumption in a pre-teen isn't doing your kid any favors.

If you're the 12 year old, I'd say probably not. While you may like the idea of drinking water out of a flask, others may see you doing it and think you're drinking alcohol. Probably not a smart move.

Not for use in public places.

Nor is taking a pistol there.

    Alarm the public and there

    are consequences.

Yes, it is empty and can be used for water, fruit juice, fizzy drinks or any other non-alcoholic cold drink. Not a good idea to use for milk-based drinks, as may be difficult to wash out adequately, and it will become smelly, either smelling of gone-off milk or even worse, of washing up liquid. Also, rinse out after use with warm water, without washing-up liquid, for the same reason.

And completely pointless. A hip flask doesn't hold enough water to be worth carrying.

    Strictly speaking, okay.

    Speaking from experience, not okay.
