That depends on what your child really wants to do with his/her life after high school. Ask your child about what he/she wants to do after high school, make plans ahead of time, it's never too early to make wise plans about higher education. If he/she wants to go to college/university, then you should find him/her a personal tutor so he/she can get academic support before he/she applies to college. Because with GPA below 3.0, he/she isn't likely to get accepted into a good college/university, so don't even consider about paying for your child's college tuition. If he/she studies hard every single day after school and still gets those low grades, then hire a personal tutor and work on his/her weak subjects before applying to college. If not, then consider going to a community college first after high school. Many students go there since it's a lot cheaper, he/she can always transfer to a 4-year college/university to obtain Bachelor's degree. Community colleges don't look at high school grades. Your child just needs a high school diploma to get into. Or tell your child to find a part-time job after high school in order to save money for college if you don't want to pay for college. Many students nowadays do that in order to support their higher education financially. Look for scholarships too. There are many resources online, probably your child can be qualified for a scholarship or grants.
