    A(s) + B(aq) --> C(g) + D(aq)

    50g ...150g .......?g ..... 140g

    .... 200g ..................200g ................. conservation of mass

    Consider the law of conservation of mass. The total mass of the reactants must equal the total mass of the products. Therefore, the mass of the gas is 60g.

    Salt + Solution = 50g + 150g = 200g

    mass of gas = 200g - mixture mass = 200g - 140g = 60g
