Average age at the first heart attack is 65.6 years for males and 72.0 years for females. Approximately every 40 seconds, an American will have a heart attack.

Nearly three-quarters of all strokes occur in people over the age of 65. The risk of having a stroke more than doubles each decade after the age of 55. Strokes can and do occur at ANY age. Nearly one fourth of strokes occur in people under the age of 65.

Diabetes and hypertension may cause additional risks for heart attacks or strokes.

They can happen at almost any age. I have seen kids as well as adults have them at the hospital I worked at.
