From the observers point of view, Point Z which is answer c.

    Very poorly presented question.

      Annnnnd.......answer 'c' is Y, not Z. But, you answered correctly....saying that it's Z.

I would say that the description is incomplete. It says "counterclockwise," but it doesn't say from which perspective. Additionally, when you spin the wheel counterclockwise from the perspective of the viewer of the image, spinning the wheel does not move the bar from right to left to right. It moves the bar from right to further-right, then left.

The question can be confusing unless you fill every missing definition with what may be implied, which is really dangerous in orthographic view.

Finally, unless there are solid numbers for those individual points, I would throw the whole thing in the trash can, because then you have to assume the artist knows exactly what he/she's doing, which has screwed me more than once.

Maybe you can try drawing it in all 4 positions and seeing for yourself how obvious it is.

      Let's just say it's either:

      Z is equal to Y

      or

      Z is greater than Y.

Since it's not asking what two points are equal in the distance M has travelled, it will be Z.
