Metallic bitter tasting canned tuna?

I opened a tuna can and it burst and I tasted it and it tasted horrible, it was like a metallic bitter taste and I spit it out, then I smelled the can and it smelled metallic. What could it be, should I be worried?

    The tuna went bad.

Good thing you spit it out.

Spoiled in the can. Poisonous stuff. You might consider getting tested for botulism.

The can should have had a vacuum, so it is spoiled - only costs a buck or so - toss it.

I would suggest that the can probably had a fracture or a pinhole, and has consequently spoilt.

Even I would not eat that one.

It could be that the tuna naturally smells like the interior of the metallic can, and that it's a different brand than you're used to. I've never heard of gone-bad fish smelling/tasting like metal.

Toss it out, it's off and possibly poisonous.
